T4 Program Summary: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded the Technical Support Services Contract 4 (T4) to Parsons as the prime contractor. This $1.3 billion+ contract has a 4-year base period with two 3-year options. The statement of work includes a variety of activities that support the FAA's Capital Investment Plan (CIP) modernization efforts: Site selection and engineering, construction, environmental and fire/life safety, equipment installation and testing, CAD, and other technical services as required. Work is performed across the nation in each of the FAA's nine regions as well as the Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and the Technical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey and in several U.S. territories. An average staff of 400-500 with a peak staff over 650 supports this contract, in addition to those subcontractors who perform construction work


Role:

The Drafter III will be responsible for drafting assignments at the William J. Hughes Technical Center. The Drafter III will be provided assignments by the CAD Manager and report to the regional Resource Administrator. Duties include: Preparing complete sets of complex drawings which include multiple views, detail drawings, and assembly drawings. Drawings include complex design features that require considerable drafting skill to visualize and portray. Assignments regularly require the use of mathematical formulas to draw land contours or to compute weights, center of gravity, load capacities, dimensions, quantities of material, etc. Works from sketches, models, and verbal information supplied by an engineer, architect, or designer to determine the most appropriate views, detail drawings, and supplementary information needed to complete assignments. Selects required information from precedents, manufacturers' catalogs, and technical guides. Independently resolves most of the problems encountered. Supervisor or design originator may suggest methods of approach or provide advice on unusually difficult problems.


Providing technical assistance to engineers and scientists in both laboratory and production activities as well as occupations concerned with independently operating and servicing technical equipment and systems. Characteristic of occupations in this category is the requirements for a knowledge of scientific, engineering, and mathematical theories, principles and techniques that are less than full professional knowledge but which, nevertheless, enables the technician to understand how and why a specific device or system operates.

  • 5 + years relevant experience as CAD Drafter.
  • Experience with Projectwise EDMS a +.
  • Should have basic skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and the Internet, should be able to learn new programs quickly
  • Must be able to meet customer security requirements. A background check by Federal Authorities will be performed.
