WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Civil Engineer for our Orange, CA office. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated candidate with experience in the design of transportation and highway projects. This position will function as a Senior design engineer, work as part of a project team and lead civil design work. The primary responsibilities include performing various civil engineering tasks such as geometric studies and design, plan and profile development, site development and grading, maintenance of traffic and staging, final PS&E development, special provisions, cost estimating, quality controls, and a variety of other tasks and duties. The role will also include collaboration within project and stakeholder teams.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
 
  • Perform civil/highway design tasks requiring independent judgment in the evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation and modification of standard design or engineering techniques and procedures
  • Perform design tasks and prepare calculations on projects for roadway, grading, drainage, site work, and underground utilities from conceptual and preliminary engineering to final design
  • Responsible for coordination with other design disciplines, including structures, environmental, hydraulics/drainage, storm water, traffic, electrical, utilities and right of way
  • Responsible for preparation of project reports, plans, specifications, and estimate bid packages
  • Ensure that production of specifications, reports and analyses meet scope, schedule, cost and quality requirements
  • Interact with clients, lead technical project design meetings
  • Supervise and perform AutoCAD or MicroStation drafting to support various design teams
  • Other duties as assigned
