WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Civil Project Manager for our Houston, TX office. 
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership, oversight, mentoring and overall management of the Civil Department
  • Provide local focus, direction and leadership to the Client while partnering closely with the local technical groups and area management
  • Plan, schedule, coordinate staffing levels needed for projects, and coordinate worksharing opportunities with other offices
  • Manage projects and maintain schedule, budget, and profitability of assigned projects, overseeing preparation of plans, specifications, proposals and RFC packages
  • Prepare, manage and review project deliverables including planning, design and construction documents, project reports, environmental studies, cost estimates, scopes of work, and proposals, ensuring quality requirements, professional standards, client requirements and corporate objectives are met
  • Provide coordination with other design disciplines and remote office locations, including: Planning, Environmental, Roadway, Structures, Hydraulics/Drainage, Transit, Aviation and Traffic
  • Collaborate with management to determine long-range plans and objectives, including recommendations on project staffing, evaluating and mentoring of subordinate staff
  • Demonstrate creativity, foresight and mature engineering judgment, and successfully managing multiple projects and task assignments, relying upon demonstrated experience in design quality control programs
  • Complete ad hoc projects as needs arise
  • Lead transportation project business development efforts and participate in proposal presentation and business development activities
  • Strategize development of new business with new and existing clients
  • Attract new clients, ensure customer satisfaction and build strong market relationships
  • Represent the firm’s interests in the various levels of local government and civic based organizations
  • Prepare and review cost proposals

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in transportation and infrastructure projects
  • Minimum 5 years leading, managing and mentoring teams of civil engineers and technicians on large transportation design projects (highway, roadway, drainage and traffic)
  • Demonstrated experience with State and local governments, contractors, transportation agencies and professional organizations
  • Strong history and experience with TxDOT projects and programs
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in the State of Texas
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures 
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
