WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Controls Specialist & Scheduler for our New Haven, CT location.
 
The prime function and basic objective of this position is to prepare detailed schedules and cost loaded schedules required for Capital work being performed for construction of major company electric, gas, transmission, facilities, environmental remediation as well as commercial buildings and yards. Develops and maintains the Project Schedule throughout the lifecycle of the project. Will also provide Project Schedule information to support estimating and cost management activities. Update schedules as projects progress identify Critical Path, project float and all essential schedule details required for project for Stakeholders. Rate shall include all necessary logistical support (i.e. laptop, cell phone, etc.), supervision and all travel costs (i.e. all costs necessary travel costs, no additional reimbursement will be paid).
 
Accountabilities / Duties / Responsibilities
 
Attends and participates as required in Construction Contract pre-bid, pre-award, fact-finding, negotiation meetings and construction sites with and without supervision. Coordinates with various departments, deploys to the field throughout the entire CECONY and O&R operation areas to gather cost basis and productivity information on both contractor and company forces.
Helps the Project Managers prepare project documents for use by other schedulers and onsite Consultants.
Assist Project Manager – Project Controls in the preparation of analysis regarding resources, earned value management and group performance and performs other tasks as required

Requirements

<div><strong>Education Professional Certifications</strong></div> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or Construction Management– or 20-years large construction Scheduling experience</li> <li>PMP Preferred but not required </li> </ul> <div><strong>Years of Experience:</strong> 10+</div> <div><strong>Description of Professional Experiance:</strong> 10+ years of documented work experience scheduling major multi-million dollar projects. Experience implementing new project/program management processes and systems in an electric and gas utility environment. Broad engineering experience in the electric and gas utility industry and knowledge of best practices across the utility. Experience with all other common scheduling platforms (i.e. Primavera P6, MS Project, Asta Powerproject, Tilos, etc.) through which contractors or others may submit schedules to be converted to P6. Experience in design, project management and construction management of electric and gas T&D infrastructure.</div> <div>   </div> <div><strong>Technical Skills</strong></div> <div><strong><br /></strong></div> <div>Fully trained in the construction scheduling software Oracle Primavera P6 Scheduling, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project. Gas & Electric Utility cost loaded scheduling experience preferred. Extensive knowledge of construction methods, practices, procedures, and contracts. Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft suite of applications required. Extensive knowledge of construction methods, practices, procedures, and contracts. Ability to learn and use the Oracle Business Intelligence (BI) Publisher, Oracle EBS, Unifier, and Work Management systems for developing, analyzing, and presenting construction cost loaded schedules. All candidates must have excellent knowledge in Earned Value Management (EVM), Risk Management concepts and application.
