T4 Program Summary: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded the Technical Support Services Contract 4 (T4) to Parsons as the prime contractor. This $1.3 billion+ contract has a 4-year base period with two 3-year options. The statement of work includes a variety of activities that support the FAAs Capital Investment Plan (CIP) modernization efforts: Site selection and engineering, construction, environmental and fire/life safety, equipment installation and testing, CAD, and other technical services as required. Work is performed across the nation in each of the FAAs nine regions as well as the Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and the Technical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey and in several U.S. territories. An average staff of 400-500 with a peak staff over 650 supports this contract, in addition to those subcontractors who perform construction work

Parsons is now hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer for our expanding portfolio of projects. This role is primarily to support the design functions on refurbishment and renovation of electrical equipment and systems. This role will apply electrical engineering techniques and analyses and the selected candidate will be proficient in electrical engineering schematics and standards. You will work with electrical CAD designers to review drawings and provide technical input on drawings and specifications suitable for electrical procurement and system installation.

The candidate will attend site surveys in support of design and develop site survey reports including the evaluation of existing conditions and recommendations for the design based on the conditions, codes (primarily the National Electrical Code), and the Client design criteria. Creates and reviews design drawings and specifications for the alteration, modernization, or expansion of FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) facilities. The candidate will review technical submittals for specification, drawing and code compliance, assist in preparation of construction bid documents to include specifications. They may also provide periodic on-site inspection of construction work.

Additionally the candidate will provide engineering support during construction including responses to requests for information, development of independent estimates for potential change orders, and submittal review to ensure compliance with design documents, evaluate field problems and recommended solutions


Responsibilities:

  • Prepare electrical engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, designs, specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
  • You may be asked to prepare detailed requisitions for electrical equipment and related materials as well as review supplier drawing submittals and performs technical bid analyses.
  • For maintenance tasks or system installation, you may also advise technicians in troubleshooting system malfunction and review preventative maintenance plans.
  • Building modifications comply with electrical code requirements and original design intent for the facility and your abilities to support cost estimating for electrical related scopes of work.
  • The Electrical Engineer will also be responsible for performingas a team lead for the completion of design tasks. The tasks will typically be for low voltage power distribution design. The team may consist of an Electrical Designer, Draftsperson and Electrician. The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for: reviewing requirements, collecting information, directing designers, reviewing designs, providing corrections and formalizing design deliverables.


Qualifications:

  • 3 plus years related work experience, preferably in electrical design of facilities
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or closely related field) from an accredited institution
  • Must be able to meet customer security requirements. A background check by Federal Authorities will be performed.
  • Background in Project Management and cost estimation for scope of work development and subcontractor specifications and equipment is required.
