WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Electrical Engineer for our Austin, Texas office. WSP works closely with architects and owners from around the world on large, complex projects with a focus on sustainability and energy performance of the built environment.   
 
About the Job
 
Our electrical engineers work on high quality, world-class buildings across many market sectors.  We are consistently a preferred provider for our healthcare clients to support complex, challenging and highly visible projects in this growing space.  You will actively participate in the full project cycle, from the design phase through the final construction close-out.
 
Responsibilities include:
 
  • Lead the growing electrical design team in the Austin office
  • Providing mentorship facilitating the growth of our younger staff
  • Ability to attend client meetings and cross-coordinate with related groups within organization
  • Service utility coordination
  • Power distribution
  • Lighting systems design
  • Working with advanced fire alarm systems
  • Low voltage infrastructure
  • Emergency power systems
  • UPS design
  • Coordination with city and state permitting agencies
  • Construction administration

Requirements

<div><strong>Requirements</strong>:</div> <div> </div> <div> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering (ARE)</li> <li>Professional Engineer in the state of Texas or ability to gain certification within 6 months</li> <li>5-10+ years’ experience designing electrical systems for the built environment.</li> <li>Project experience submitted for consideration should include buildings on which you have actively participated in the project from the design phase through the final construction close-out</li> <li>Strong working knowledge of building, electrical, healthcare and energy codes</li> <li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis on the ability to organize and present design information to clients</li> </ul> </div> <div> </div> <div><strong>Preferred Experience</strong>:</div> <div> </div> <div> <ul> <li>LEED AP</li> <li>Working knowledge of Revit.</li> <li>Special consideration will be given to those candidates who have successfully demonstrated innovative design experience specifically related to renewable energies and sustainable, high performing buildings</li> </ul> </div> <div> </div> <div>Talent is the essence of meeting our client’s objectives, goals and challenges.  If this sounds like a fit for you, we’d love to have that first discussion of you joining our team.</div> <div> </div> <div> </div> <div> </div> <div>About WSP USA</div> <div> </div> <div>WSP USA is the U.S. operating company of one of the world's leading engineering and professional services firms.
