We  invite you to be a part of that vision and experience.  Our WSP USA Properties & Buildings group in our Tempe, Arizona office, is looking for a Senior Consultant : Electrical Engineer to support and add to our wide and diverse talent.


  • Works in a team or independently, planning and  executing  electrical engineering tasks within projects 
  • Demonstrates signifigant understanding of the range of services provided by the WSP engineering teams  & related practices. These may include utility, industrial and commercial scale projects related to the built environment
  • Independently, under general supervision, supports the team during proposal design, and construction stages of substation projects
  • Contributes to the Design of electrical substation facilities including site and equipment, grounding grids. Lightning shields etc.
  • Helps to Define design scopes, best practices, procedures, and criteria for medium to high-voltage substation projects
  • Perform electrical calculations such as grounding touch and step potentials, short circuit study, protective device coordination, one-line diagram development, protective relaying, and substation switchyard layouts
  • Completes tasks supporting  substation design and quality assurance and control
  • Helps in coordination of design activities with other departments (Civil / Structural, Transmission Line, etc.)
  • Maintain a high level of quality and responsiveness to client requirements in alignment with Pickett’s standards
  • Interact regularly with clients, which includes maintaining current relationships and developing new relationships
  • Lead meetings with internal and external stakeholders
  • Works independently & researches & recommends of fundamental  components identified in electrical designs
  • Works independently to complete tasks, and  under general supervision, can develop IFR and IFC detailed design and develop procurement packages and contribute to project planning
  • Conducts data collection, research, , documentation and technical work under general supervision  
  • Prepare report and studies and potential visual representations of data 
  • Creates, edits, and analyzes information for purposes of reporting and advising team members and clients.
Collaborate & Lead
  • Routinely presents to the engineering team,  project team, business operations and stakeholder engagement in a professional manner  
  • Attend client meetings, field activities and stakeholder meetings 
  • Independently and in concert with team members, develop presentation material for internal reporting, training, client meetings and business development
  • Provides guidance to junior staff or interns to assist with project flow  
  • Helps in coordination of design activities with other departments (Civil / Structural, Transmission Line, etc.)
  • Interact regularly with clients, which includes maintaining current relationships and developing new relationships
  • Routinely contributes meetings with internal and external stakeholders
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.  
  • Other duties as required by business needs.
