WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Electrical Engineer/Designer for our Washington, DC office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Design of power, lighting, cyber-security and fire alarm systems including analysis, equipment selection, layout design and specifications.
  • Manage and mentor a team of electrical engineers.
  • Act as project manager and interface with clientele when required.
  • Survey a wide variety of facilities and processes for determining as-built conditions, energy conservation opportunities, and deficiencies.
  • Perform power density, voltage drop and fault current analyses.
  • Interact on a frequent basis with individuals and agencies representing municipal, state, and other public regulators.
  • Collaborate on establishing plans to achieve goals or schedules set by the client.
  • Participate as an active member of a project team and be able to work independently.
  • Demonstrate interpersonal/communication skills with motivation and an eagerness to learn.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 7+ years’ experience of Electrical Consulting Engineering/Design experience/Field Inspection including 3+ years of experience servicing US Federal Goverment projects
  • Analytical skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint), report and letter writing and oral communication skills
  • Project Management, including client interrelations experience
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • The ability to obtain the appropriate security clearance
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Preferred Qualifications:
  • MD or DC PE license
  • Active US Government-issued securty clearance
  • Master's Degree
  • Design experience in ITS/communications/Cyber-Security/AV systems
  • Port Authority and other local client project experience
  • Working experience in AutoCAD, knowledge of 3D modeling CAD software with Autodesk Revit and AGI 32.
