WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Engineer (Structures) for our Boston, Massachuestts office.
 
The Boston Office provides transportation and infrastructure services to numerous agencies and private clients in Massachusetts and the North East United States. Our structural work includes design and retrofit of facilities and transportation related structures for a wide variety of public and private sector clients including: MassDOT; MBTA; MassPORT; counties and municipalities in Massachusetts and the North East.
 
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • The ideal candidate will have broad-based, hands-on experience in structural engineering including the ability to execute tasks as part of a multi-disciplinary team. 
  • Assignments may include: Planning, Analysis, Design and Rehabilitation of Bridge, Commercial Building, Industrial Facility, Transit and Transportation Facility’s; Repair and Retrofit of Communication Towers; Analysis Design and Retrofit of Retaining Walls; Construction Staging Analysis; Evaluation of Existing Structures and Load Ratings; Plan Development, Preparation of Specifications, Review of Construction Phase Submittals and Shop Drawings, Preparation of Technical Reports, and Participation in Field Work including Construction and Structural Integrity Inspection. 
  • Other duties may include: Project Management; Mentoring; Client Interaction and Preparation of Proposals including Cost Proposals.

<div>Talent is the essence of meeting our client’s objectives, goals and challenges.  If this sounds like a fit for you, we’d love to have that first discussion of you joining our team.</div> <div> </div> <div>Minimum Qualifications:</div> <div> <ul> <li>A Bachelor of Science degree and minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience in structure design is required.  </li> <li>A Massachusetts Professional Engineers license or professional engineers license in another state with ability to obtain a Massachusetts State Professional Engineers license is required. </li> <li>Ability to efficiently use structural analysis software such as CSI Bridge, SAP 2000, RISA 3D or equal is required.</li> <li>This position requires the ability to work independently with minimum supervision as a lead engineer on major projects. </li> <li>Successful candidate will mentor and guide junior engineers during the planning and design process.</li> <li>Successful candidates will have excellent verbal and written communication skills.</li> </ul> </div> <div> </div> <div>Preferred Qualifications</div> <div> <ul> <li>A Masters Degree is a plus. </li> <li>The Boston office uses both AutoCAD and MIcroStation software on several projects and the ability to understand and use both programs is desirable. </li> <li>Experience with project scheduling software a plus.</li> </ul> </div> <div> </div> <div>About WSP USA</div> <div> </div> <div>WSP USA is the U.S. operating company of one of the world's leading engineering and professional services firms.
