WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Environmental Permitting Specialist for our Los Angeles, CA office.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Work with California High-Speed Rail Authority staff, consultants and legal counsel in the strategy development, preparation, and acquisition of environmental permits needed for project construction and operation.
  • Serve as a point-of-contact for state and federal resource agencies relative to the areas of natural resource mitigation, permitting, and compliance demonstration.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 10+ years in progressively responsible relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Biological or Wetland Sciences or in a closely related field. 
  • Excellent project and organizational management skills.
  • Experience with design-build contracting and construction processes.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in related field.
  • Strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of CEQA and NEPA, state and federal environmental laws.
