WSP is currently seeking a Senior Inspector for our Portland, ME area road and utility projects.
 
Reporting to the WSP Project Manager, the duties and responsibilities would include, but not be limited to:
  • Effectively interface with the contractor, designer, client, and testing lab on all project matters.
  • Prepare daily reports and quantity calculations. Coordinate with project manager for tracking and documentation requirements.
  • Inspect various facets of the construction project and perform field quality control observations and assessments.
  • Inspect and assess the quality of materials being used for construction projects.
  • Prepare field sketches of underground utility construction, with necessary swing-ties and dimensions, for use in preparing red-line drawings.
  • Participate in project meetings, and coordinate sampling and testing frequencies with the independent testing lab.
  • Ensure compliance to project plans and specifications.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 8 years of field construction inspection experience required with roads and utilities, in urban areas.
  • MS Office skills (Word, Excel) required.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
Preferred Qualifications:
  • B. S. degree in Engineering or Construction Management or NICET 3
  • Maine DOT experience.
  • Site Manager or APPIA experience.
  • ACI and NETTCP certifications a plus.
