WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Lead Construction Manager for our Cap Haitian, Haiti project location.  The managing home office is in Washington, D.C.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the Senior WSP Representative in Cap Haitain responsible to USAID in overseeing the delivery of a $25M construction project to rehabilitate the Cap Haitien Port.
  • Supervise, manage and provide technical leadership to an international and local staff in providing construction management, construction inspection, quantity verification, contractor RFIs, change order management, submittal reviews, records management, quality assurance, safety, and other tasks associated with being the Owner's Representative on a major construction project.
  • Prepare and present oral and / or written presentations on the project to USAID, GoH, or other official audiences; prepare and submit progress and schedule reports to USAID and WSP home office; host USAID and other US Govt and GoH officials for site visits.
  • Chair a Port Cap Haitien Coordination Committee consisting of the Port Authority, the Port Operator and other tenants, and the Construction Contractor to synchronize ongoing port operations with construction activities to minimize conflicts and interruptions.   
  • Oversee a local administrative and logistics staff; attend to USAID and GoH compliance requirements; manage local vendors, subcontractors, etc.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 12+ years' experience managing construction of facilities and infrastructure in developing countries
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or related concentration from an accredited US college or university, or international equivalent
  • 10+ years of experience in the area of construction/rehabilitation and/or operations, port experience is preferred
  • Demonstrated communication, creative problem solving, and management skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of infrastructure norms (e.g., quality and practices) in developing countries and the US
  • Strong writing and oral presentation skills
  • Must be fluent in English; conversational French and/or Creole is preferred
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior Haiti experience
  • Prior USAID experience
  • Prior project lead experience (Lead CM, COP, etc)
