Job Description
The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for all routine on-site project administration, scheduling and engineering. Plans, coordinates, and manages on-site construction engineering activities and schedules and communicates with subcontractors. Review monthly payment applications from subcontractor. Prepare construction workplans, technical drawings, and follow the submittal process. Prepare and track RFIs. Prepares, coordinates and updates job budgets, change orders and cost reports for Project and District Managers review and approval.
Responsibilities:
Including but not limited to:
Prepare construction work plans, including technical drawings
Review construction plans from Field Engineers
Review data from Geotechnical Instrumentation
Develop data reports
Review pay subcontractor pay estimates prior to managements approval
Supervise cost report management and lead regular review meetings
Supervise project CPM management and lead regular review meetings
Manage project document control system
Identify issues early and work to develop solutions
Prepare all required information for presentation at project review
Qualifications:
BS in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or Construction Management
Must have prior Heavy/Highway or Underground experience on projects over $20 Million.
Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in heavy/highway or underground construction
Familiar with ground improvements, geotechnical instrumentation, reinforced concrete, grading, drainage, underground construction, support of excavation, and all other underground construction scopes
Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, Excel and Word
3D CAD or similar is preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail-oriented
