WSP is currently initiating a search for a part-time tranist project manager for our Chicago office. This position reports to the Manager of the Bus Rapid Transit Team, within WSP’s Transit & Rail Technical Excellence Center.  The selected individual will be responsible for providing Full Time managerial, planning and technical expertise for WSP's BRT practice.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Act as a technical expert on PMO assignments and/or Bus Rapid Transit projects for all phases, from concept to construction
  • Provide Project Management on medium to large size projects with opportunity to grow, including contract negotiation and managing to scope, schedule, and budget
  • Support larger projects as a Sr technical specialist, Task Manager, Segment Manager or discipline expert
  • Aid local offices pursuing or delivering BRT projects with technical expertise, including opportunities to travel
  • Demonstrate your skills to the industry through conference presentations and paper publication
  • Assist in growing the business by building relationships, writing marketing proposals and providing other business development support
  • Management of technical staff

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • 12 plus years of experience in the tranist indstry with work on Bus Rapid Transit projects or equivalent
  • Experience working with Chicago metroploitin area transit and transportation agencies
  • Demonstrated organizational and communications skills.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Direct experience with Chicago area transit or transporation agency
