This is your opportunity to become a key member of a growing national aviation team. Our Aviation Technical Excellence Center provides engineering and planning services for airports facilities, terminals, and supports WSP’s projects around the world. The Aviation team works on multiple projects simultaneously, in close coordination with technical departments.  This role is based in the pacific northwest and will focus on development of clients and execution of projects in the area.
The ideal candidate will have diverse experience in airport planning, design, and construction management; including project involvement in a variety of landside and airside projects, rehabilitation and reconstruction of airfield pavements, Navigational Aids, grading and drainage design, storm water management, etc. The selected candidate will be a team player, self-motivated with good communication skills and will supervise other engineers and/or sub consultants either face to face or remotely. The selected candidate will be required to work on multiple concurrent projects which will require planning the work, prioritizing tasks, and following through to confirm that tasks assigned to others are progressing as required.

WSP is currently initiating a search for an Sr. Project Manager for our Pacific Northwest Design Team based in Portland, Oregon.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to clearly and effectively present information to clients, other staff and management
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Understanding of scope, schedule and budget
  • Participates in client development and relations activities including meetings, conferences and other industry events
  • Regular travel within the Pacific Northwest Area will be required
  • Occasional travel outside the Pacific Northwest Area is also anticipated
  • Development of project scopes, budgets and schedules
  • Leading technical aspects of contract negotiation, presentations and meetings
  • Preparing and leading presentations to client and team
  • Maintenance of clear lines of communication and contractual relationship between Project Manager and design team
  • Management of design team members (local and remote)
  • Development and maintenance of all project related processes and procedures
  • Establishment of project costs, review of budgets, management and approval of project cost reports
  • Generation and/or review of project change orders, cash flows, forecasts and estimates
  • Management of and approval the development, update and issuance of the project schedule
  • Scheduling and supervision of internal and external coordination meetings with contractors, engineers, and others as may be necessary
  • Make recommendations on project staffing, evaluate subordinate staff
