The WSP Los Angeles office is currently seeking a motivated Senior-level Manager to lead our Southern California Maritime group.
The Maritime division of WSP provides diverse planning and engineering services for the ports and marine market. Our group comprises highly motivated planners and engineers with a variety of technical backgrounds including civil, environmental, ocean and structural engineering and port planning, working in several key locations across the US. Our strength is derived from the diversity of our marine-related work and our staff.
The position offers career growth opportunities with a specific goal of hiring strategically, with corporate support, to develop a group of motivated, talented technical staff, to work on major ports and marine projects locally, nationally and internationally. Other specific duties associated with this position include business development, identifying and pursuing project opportunities, client relationship development, and managing projects, tasks and staff for marine facility projects, including various types of cargo terminals (e.g. container, dry and liquid bulk, break-bulk, passenger and other waterfront facilities).  This is not a Marine Engineering role, but rather a role for an office Practice Leader, Client Manager, Business Manager and Business Development manager with technical experience (not limited to engineering) with Ports and Marine projects (e.g. waterfront and in water).

<ul> <li> <div style="display: inline !important;">Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a maritime related technical field</div> </li> <li>Plus a minimum of fifteen years of relevant experience in the port, shipping terminal or marine related industry including managing staff.</li> <li>Experience in hiring personnel, leading personnel with diverse backgrounds</li> <li>Developing client relations</li> <li>Successfully winning project work</li> <li>Developing and maintaining project scopes, schedules, budgets</li> <li>Mentoring staff</li> <li>Excellent oral and written communication skills and must have demonstrated project management, marketing and supervision skills and management aptitude.</li> </ul> <div>Preferred Qualifications:</div> <ul> <li>Master's Degree</li> <li>Knowledge of Port of Los Angeles and Port of Long Beach facilities and staff is highly desirable.</li> </ul> <div>About WSP USA</div> <div>WSP USA is the U.S. operating company of one of the world's leading engineering and professional services firms.
