WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Train Control Engineer for our Oakland, CA office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead in developing design approaches and concepts on assigned projects including train control systems for Light Rail, Heavy Rail, Commuter Rail, Mass Transit and High Speed Rail Projects.
  • A firm understanding of fixed-block concepts, signaling hardware, and safety-related design concepts
  • Ability to review and understand route & aspect charts, block & control line drawings, and other related documents
  • Review shop drawings, record changes and communicate directly with suppliers, contractors and client representatives as required.
  • Perform site investigations in train control facilities and along trackside.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum 10 years of experience of signalling design experiance in fixed block, CBTC and/or PTC
  • BSCEE / Electrical Engineering Degree or related field preferred. This requirement may be waived if exceptional experience is demonstrated.   
  • Immediate availability to work in the US
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures 
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer certification
  • MS in Electrical Engineering
