WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Transportation Planner for our Austin, TX office. The right candidate could also be based out of our Dallas, TX of Houston, TX offices.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a project manager or task lead for multidisciplinary transportation planning projects
  • Provide technical oversight on transportation planning, systems planning, subarea/corridor planning studies
  • Provide technical expertise for transportation programming, funding cost analysis, federal funding cycles and application of federal funds at state and local level
  • Provide expertise with the analysis, prioritization and implementation of planning products generated by TxDOT, including the SLRTP, UTP and STIP
  • Develop and successfully manage relationships with internal and external clients, specifically with TxDOT

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience in transportation planning and programming
  • Bachelors degree in planning, engineering or related fields
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • PE or AICP certification preferred
  • TxDOT precertification is applicable transportation planning categories
  • Experience with portolio management and DecisionLens prioritization software
  • Existing working relationships with TxDOT District and Division staff
