The Sr. Product Manager oversees product development for a portfolio of products with multiple feature or component teams and the leads for products/sub-products within the Operating Unit (OU) and reports to the Integrated Delivery Director. The Sr. Product Manager is responsible for the overall success of the products and will work closely with Technical Directors, Program leadership, Account Executives (AE), and Business Development (BD) to identify, understand, and scope requirements into product releases for multiple customers, effectively managing and delivering upon the product roadmap. The Sr. Product Manager considers business, system, the market, and technical perspectives in product development.

This is accomplished by focusing on the following functional areas and objectives:

Product Ownership

  • Accountable for the product vision and strategy, with focuses on successful technical, functional, and human-centered designs; reports on business and operational performance of products and customers
  • Ensures products are aligned with customer expectations, business priorities, and internal technical strategy
  • Delivers epic level customer requirements to Product Owners
  • Ensures good economic decisions are continuously being made at the release level
  • Maximizes product team productivity by prioritizing high value requirements
  • Generates, maintains and communicates product release schedules
  • Defines acceptance criteria and verifies requirements
  • Participates in all portfolio, product, and release planning activities related to their products
  • Identifies opportunities to generate new product and series to meet customer needs; encourages innovation and assists with formally documenting ideas in white papers and ROMs
  • Compiles and maintains market and competitive analysis

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Works with customers to define problems and generate requirements
  • Works with project management to ensure contractual obligations are met
  • Work with solution architects to ensure alignment with technical strategy
  • Represents products in meetings and events
  • Coordinates with technical partners

Required Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of demonstrated, successful product management experience managing complex products with a customer base comprised of various funding streams, to include a minimum of 5 years in a lead role or management position
  • Demonstrated ability to create and execute a product vision and roadmap and to translate business requirements into system level designs, solutions, and specifications
  • 3-5 years of experience working with Agile methodologies, preferably with large scale teams (to include SAFe)
  • Ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical leaders verbally and in writing
  • 5+ years of experience with personnel management/development and negotiations (e.g. resource, contracts, requirements)
  • 3+ years of experience working with Contracts, Legal, Business Development, Marketing, Finance, and Accounting teams
  • 5+ years of experience working with and managing internal (i.e. other product teams, functional teams, OU, etc.) and external (i.e. vendors, 3rd party solution developers, 3rd party industry analysis experts) partner relationships
  • BS or BA degree in Computer science, Business Administration, Product Management, will consider 7-10 years of comparable experience in lieu of degree.

Desired Qualifications

  • TS/SCI Security Clearance
  • M.S. or MBA preferred
  • 5+ years of experience working with the Department of Defense
  • Working knowledge of DoD Cybersecurity/Risk Management Framework requirements
  • 3+ years of experience working with UX/UI and human centered design teams
  • 5+ years of experience working with commercial products/product teams

Must be able to obtain, maintain and/or currently possess a security clearance.
