Sr. Scientist - Environmental Remediation and Restoration

We are committed to environmental sustainability and restoration and are adding a Sr. Scientist to our team of experts within our US Environmental Services team, and location can be in St. Louis Missouri or in a nearby city. We have executed two of the largest remediation programs in the United States and continue to support customers throughout the world in industrial restoration and remediation. If you have a background in chemistry, and data analytics for environmental projects, this is the position for you!

In this role, you will be using your expertise to focus on remedial investigations of petrochemical, former MGP, Superfund sites, Federal sites, landfills, and mines. You will oversee analytical data reviews and evaluations for private and government-funded projects, prepare data usability and data validation reports and site-specific quality assurance project plans, and provides technical support for data quality assessment and interpretation.

Additional responsibilities include:

Preparing sampling and analytical functions, monitoring subcontracted laboratory performance

Review analytical data in accordance with project requirements, determined data usability, and interpreted data utility and other technical support for assessing contamination.

Deliverables will include quality assurance project plans, monitoring reports, and data summary reports.

Perform independent field-work gathering all types of chemistry data pertinent to the assigned projects including soil, surface water, groundwater, and sediment sampling programs, and validate that data.


BS degree in chemistry or environmental chemistry

8+ years of experience in environmental laboratory and environmental consulting

Experience in the review of radiological chemistry data for compliance with regulatory protocols (e.g., USEPA and various state)

Experience in preparing QA plans in accordance with the UFP-QAPP guidance

Knowledge of environmental analytical methods (e.g., USEPA, SW-846, DoD QSM, Standard Methods)

Experience in the review and data validation of organic and inorganic data in various media (soil, water, air, tissue) for compliance with regulatory protocols

Knowledge of USEPA National Functional Guidelines with regional modifications

Experience in preparing data validation reports

Experience in validating and reviewing laboratory electronic disk deliverables

Experience in working with current database, spreadsheet, and GIS software

Willingness to work in both field and office locations
