WSP is currently initiating a search for a Sr. Supervising Mechanical Engineer for our Virginia Beach, VA office.
This is an excellent technical leadership position for a proficient engineer to influence production of engineering design for a national and international client base in an internationally recognized global firm in a field designated for expansion.
Project assignments may include, although not be limited to Department of Defense facilities for the Army, Navy and air Force, and to include the following work in support of other US-based groups within WSP Transportation and Infrastructure: transit stations, vehicular or rail tunnels, marine ports, airports, transportation centers, maintenance facilities, parking structures, and pump stations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
•The successful candidate will manage heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, and fire protection engineering for DoD facilities, transit, tunnels, industrial, commercial and institutional projects and may include managing the following functions:
•Preparing design criteria documents, calculations, drawings and specifications for mechanical systems including piping and ductwork systems design, mechanical system demand, design and layout of mechanical equipment rooms, controls for mechanical systems including direct digital controls systems, and coordination with electrical and other engineering disciplines as required.
•Developing cost estimates for mechanical projects.
•Serving as engineer-of-record for design documents and reports covering mechanical systems.
•Providing support during construction activities.
•Attending meetings with clients, agency and project team.

<div>Minimum Qualifications:</div> <div class="O0">•Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering</div> <div class="O0">•15+ years’ experience with engineering and design of mechanical systems</div> <div class="O0">•VA PE registration</div> <div class="O0">•Management of the development of documents and files with AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit, and Microsoft Office.</div> <div class="O0">•Must be proficient in the interpretation and application of ASHRAE Standards, Title 24, NFPA and applicable building codes.</div> <div class="O0">•Experience  with facilities surveys, reports, feasibility studies, design, specifications, cost estimating, construction activity support, owner's engineer;  and supervision of less experienced engineers and designers and technicians.  Areas of experience should include one or more of the following categories of facilities:  facility buildings, transit stations, aviation, marine, vehicular or rail tunnels, transportation centers, maintenance facilities, parking structures, and pump stations.</div> <div> </div> <div>Preferred Qualifications:</div> <div class="O0">•Commissioning Certification</div> <div class="O0">•LEED Accreditation</div> <div> </div> <div>About WSP USA</div> <div> </div> <div>WSP USA is the U.S. operating company of one of the world's leading engineering and professional services firms.
