WSP is currently initiating a search for a SR SYSTEM INTERGRATION ENGINEER for our SAN JOSE, CA office.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead the integration of the technical and program interface and system integration deliverables.
  • Lead the activities of our Integration Team, including the activities of support functions, to co-ordinate, facilitate and consolidate the work for the integrated Transit / Rail project teams with the work of other major network projects sufficient to meet the requirements of the Safety Accreditation processes for our clients projects.
  • Establishment and implementation of clear management plans and approaches to support the adoption of Systems Engineering practices, and controls across all of our clients Work Projects.
  • Work with representatives of the various rail operators and other stakeholder to manage the clarification, development, documentation and reporting of the technical and program interface deliverables across multiple disciplines.
  • Represent our client in discussions with key stakeholders relating to the interface requirements and translate these into requirements into interface for the design of the facilities and systems.
  • Foster and drive an integrated approach to the design, construction and commissiong planning across the team and external inter-dependent projects.
  • Manage and provide leadership direction to project staff and considered advice to the clients Management Team on key risks and issues facing facility and systems packages and other interface projects.
  • Provide specialist support with the further development of interface management nd system integration management plans.
  • Provide specialist advice and support to Project Managers resolving assessing and resolving external project interfaces issues, including escalation of high-level actions for resolution as necessary, and implement best practice process and procedures for Interface Management including risk and issues management activities.
  • Ensures the management safety is paramont and implement sector best practice processes and procedures.
  • Build strong relationships and competently communicate and negotiate with stakeholders, including project team members, contractors, and consultants to ensure work is priortised and delivered on time and to appropriate quality standards, government and community requirements.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 10 to 15 years of experience
  • BSEE
  • Experience with public transportation projects
  • Experience with rail projects
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • 15 to 20 years of experience
  • Professional Registration in State of CA
  • Experience with rail projects
