WSP is excited to be offering positions with our Southeast Transit and Rail Team which specializes in the planning and design of wide-ranging Transit projects within the Southeast and across the nation. This is an amazing opportunity to become immediately involved in some of the biggest and most high profile Transit projects currently underway in our nation’s fastest growing and most progressive transit markets. This highly collaborative team is among the nation’s best and brightest in the delivery and management of Transit projects, helping create solutions that meet our clients’ objectives and solve their complex challenges.   
 
WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Transit Project Manager for our Orlando, Florida office.  This position reports to the Manager of the Southeast Transit and Rail Team.  The selected individual will be responsible for providing managerial, engineering, planning, and technical expertise for WSP's Transit practice, and will play a key role in developing and pursuing new transit projects in the Orlando and North Florida  markets.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Act as a technical expert on Transit projects at all phases, from planning, concept design, to construction
  • Provide Project Management on medium to large size projects with opportunity to grow, including contract negotiation and managing to a scope, schedule, and budget
  • Support larger projects as a Task Manager, Segment Manager or discipline expert
  • Aid local offices pursuing or delivering Transit projects with technical expertise, including opportunities to travel
  • Demonstrate your skills to the industry through conference presentations and paper publication
  • Assist in growing the business by building relationships, providing  input and direction on marketing proposals and strong involvement in business development efforts
  • Management of technical staff

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Traffic Engineering or related discipline
  • 12+ years' of experience in the planning and design of Transit projects
  • Professional Engineering Registration
  • Experience working with FDOT public transit office and North Florida transit agencies
  • Strong experience in client engagement and business development activiies
  • Demonstrated organizational and communications skills.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • An AICP would be a plus
