WSP has an immediate opening in its Virginia Beach office for a Stormwater/Utility Engineer to support and expand the Water Business Unit in the Virginia Beach/Norfolk, VA Area. The candidate will support the planning, design, and preparation of contract documents for construction of stormwater and utility infrastructure, conveyance systems, pump stations, water and sewer distribution, significant utility relocations, resilient infrastructure, flood control, and road restoration on complex high profile projects and on smaller scale projects.
 
Position Description:
 
  • Provide engineering services and task management for planning, design, construction document preparation, specifications, cost estimates, and construction management of stormwater and utility infrastructure including conveyance, pump stations, utility relocations, and roadway restoration.  The position will also require working effectively on a team and contributing on segments of a larger project, multi-disciplinary coordination, monitoring scope, schedule and budget, and ensuring client satisfaction.

Requirements

<div class="O0"> <ul> <li>Minimum 3-7 years of experience in technical calculations and task/project management</li> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering</li> <li>Engineer-In-Training (EIT) or preferred active professional engineering (PE) license in Virginia, or the ability to obtain within 1-2 years of hire</li> <li>Project experience in the following areas:</li> </ul> </div> <div class="O1">Hydraulic modeling of open-channel and closed conduit systems</div> <div class="O1">Design of water distribution and sewer systems</div> <div class="O1">Work in urban right-of-ways   </div> <div class="O1">Pump station design/rehabilitation (Preferred)</div> <div class="O1">Sewer rehabilitation and replacement</div> <div class="O1">Trenchless technology</div> <div class="O1">Roadway restoration and utility relocation/offsets</div> <div class="O1">Preparation of construction documents, including design drawings, specifications and cost estimates</div> <div class="O1">Permitting and coordination with regulatory agencies</div> <div class="O1">Project management and maintaining client satisfaction</div> <div class="O1">Public participation</div> <div class="O1">Execution  of multi-disciplinary project coordination (Preferred)</div> <div class="O0"> <ul> <li>Self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills</li> <li>Affiliations with professional societies and active industry and community involvement are highly desirable</li> <li>Authorization to immediately work in the United States is required</li> <li>Local candidates are preferred</li> </ul> </div> <div> </div> <div>About WSP USA</div> <div> </div> <div>WSP USA is the U.S. operating company of one of the world's leading engineering and professional services firms.
