Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Coach and mentor a team of engineers and detailers
Take care of our customers and service their requirements
Review contract documents such as structural and architectural drawings and project specifications, extracting all pertinent information necessary to ensure that the design of Vulcraft open-web steel joists and steel deck products meet or exceed the requirements of the project, applicable building codes, specifications and safety standards in the most efficient manner possible.
Technically support detailing team, shop order team, and production team.
Effectively Communicate and coordinate job requirements externally with customers, architects, engineers, contractors and internally with various departments of the plant.
Assist project managers and sales personnel; provide sales & service coordination for engineering, fabrication, and delivery.
Other duties assigned.
Minimum Qualifications and Education Requirements
BS or MS in civil engineering, with an emphasis in structural design
Minimum 2 years experience in structural design
Canadian resident with the ability to travel within Canada.
A good understanding of the National Building Code of Canada.
Superior language skills, both written and oral. Good interpersonal skills.
Preference
Licensed Professional Engineer or ability to obtain.
CWB Welding Engineer certification or ability to obtain.
Engineering experience in structural steel
