WSP is currently initiating a search for a Structural Engineer for our Detroit, MI or Lansing, MI office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with highly qualified engineers and professionals of different disciplines
  • Perform design engineering duties; including project studies, plans, specifications and other design deliverables
  • Provide support to Project Managers on submittals, putting together design calculations, making CADD changes incorporating comments
  • Performing structural condition inspections and construction inspection
  • Performing structural analysis and design of mainly bridges and other transportation structures
  • Be organized, ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks at any given time
  • And other duties as assigned

<div><strong>Minimum Qualifications:</strong></div> <div><strong><br /></strong></div> <ul> <li>Minimum of 3 years of experience on structural engineering focused on the transportation industry</li> <li>Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering</li> <li>Knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Specifications</li> <li>Good knowledge of structural design and transportation industry software</li> <li>Familiarity with Microstation and/or AutoCAD</li> <li>Good communication skills</li> </ul> <div> </div> <div><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></div> <div><strong><br /></strong></div> <ul> <li>Understanding of MDOT design standards, policies, and procedures</li> <li>Strong knowledge of structural design and transportation industry software</li> <li>Successful completion of NHI 130110 course</li> <li>Successful completion of NHI 130078 course</li> <li>Strong knowledge of AASHTOWare Bridge Rating software</li> </ul> <div> </div> <div><strong>About WSP USA</strong></div> <div> </div> <div>WSP USA is the U.S. operating company of one of the world's leading engineering and professional services firms.
