WSP is currently initiating a search for a Structural Engineer II for our Buffalo, NY office.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform Bridge and Transportation Structural Design and Analysis tasks as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Assist in the preparation of contract drawings, specifications and engineering reports.
  • Preparation of design calculations for a variety of bridge and transportation and infrastructure related projects.
  • Perform load rating analysis and evaluation of existing structures for repairs/retrofits.
  • Assist with various aspects fo projects inluding concept design, schematic design final design, construction staging, cost estimating, and preparation of reports.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Structural or Civil Engineering is required
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience on roadway/bridge transportation projects
  • Hands on experience with structural analysis software and CADD
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures 
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
 
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Structural Engineering
  • Proficiency with New York State standards, specifications and procedures is beneficial
  • Active in Professional Societies
  • REVIT and/or BrIM and CADD software capabilities
