WSP is currently initiating a search for a Structural Engineer for our Boston office. WSP’s Boston office has an opportunity for an entry-level structural engineer with some prior co-op/internship experience (0 to 1 years) to work on a variety of assignments on transportation related building projects to support senior staff and project managers in the office and in the field. Includes design, report preparation, construction inspection and other tasks. This position is ideal for junior engineers who are seeking an opportunity for career development, mentoring and creative challenges with one of the world's premier transportation firms.
Responsibilities will include the following:
  • Structural analysis and design of various building framing and foundation systems, both gravity and lateral, in structural steel, reinforced concrete, and masonry
  • Structural modeling and analysis utilizing Revit Structure, STAAD, and ETABS
  • Support in the development of construction drawings and specifications
  • Support during construction phase services including shop drawing submittal review and construction requests for information (RFIs)

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with focus on structures, civil engineering, or equivalent professional degree, from an accredited university is required.  Candidate must have successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE/EIT) exam
  • Knowledge of, and experience using structural engineering modeling and analysis computer software including Revit Structure, STAAD or ETABS, and AutoCAD is required.
  • Strong writing and communication skills desired, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
