WSP is seeking a motivated Structural Materials Engineer to join our Construction Services Team on Florida's Turnpike Enterprise in Ocoee, Florida.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Structural Materials Engineer shall coordinate all structural material testing  services required by the department which may included, but is not limited to the following:
*Ensure that all concrete independent assurance requirements are met.
*Provide recommendations to the Turnpike’s Construction Office regarding the disposition of substandard materials.
*Approve alternate corrective methods for concrete deficiencies and their repair.
*Concrete structures plan review during all phases of design.
*Manage investigation of concrete in pavements, concrete structures, and other concrete applications.
*Communicate with other departments in the Turnpike, central office or other districts of the Florida Department of Transportation, and appropriate organizations, regarding concrete-related issues.

Minimum Qualifications:
*Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
*Minimum of 7 years of experience
*Registered Professional Engineer in the state of Florida or the ability to obtain registration in the state of Florida within six months
*Ability to effectively community  Engineering information both verbally and in writing
*Ability to supervise employees
*Knowledge of the concepts, terminology, principles and analytical techniques of concrete and other structural materials
*knowledge of the destructive and non-destructive testing methods to determine the in-place concrete conditions
*Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments and determine the work priorities to ensure proper completion of assignments.
