WSP is currently initiating a search for a Supervising Architect for our San Francisco, CA office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Deliver the architectural component of small, mid-size and large-scale transport projects.
  • Develop and coordinate drawings / graphics, schedules, specifications and other contract documents.
  • Use AutoCAD, REVIT, SketchUp and all Microsoft Office software (ex. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access etc.)
  • Allocate resources and apply quality control skills
  • Develop approach(s) to handle and complete complex and demanding assignments, which require independent application of specialized professional skills, coordination with other technical disciplines, or both
  • Manage and direct projects’ architectural group staff and assist in confirming project budgets are maintained, and financial goals achieved
  • Monitor and mentor junior staff in their professional development
  • Responsible for the technical quality and coordination of Architectural work and conformance with the Project Implementation Plan/Project Quality Control Plan (PIP/PQCP)
  • Assist with business development and support project presentations to clients, public and private stakeholders, and public agencies

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Professional Bachelor’s degree in Architecture
  • Professional registration in California
  • 10+ years, applicable experience
  • Transportation project experience such as commuter, light rail, high speed rail, automated people mover, bus rapid transit projects, and transportation vehicle maintenance facilities
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Architecture
  • An ability and / or interest in writing and coordinating specifications; experience with SpecLink and / or MasterSpec
  • Functioning Experience with Adobe creative suite, Rhinoceros, Grasshopper, Maya and / or 3DS
