Job Description:

Systems Engineer for AaaS, Crypto specialist

Parsons is the prime contractor on the SATOPS, Prototyping, and Integration (SPI) contract which directly supports Space Systems Command (SSC) Enterprise Ground Service (EGS). The goal of EGS is to deploy a universal command and control architecture aimed at eliminating restrictions by continuously delivering enterprise tactical command and control services and applications that, when integrated with mission partner unique services and applications using system engineering principles in an agile environment, will fully enable today's modern warfighter.

This opportunity will be to work on the Catalyst Campus in Colorado Springs.

The hired candidate will help architect, implement, and test encryption components within the EGS ground systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in satellite grounds as well as the encryption equipment required in those ground systems.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Architect, configure, integrate, and test encryption hardware and software
  • Implement satellite encryption into systems taken from high level designs with referred technology focus on KS-252 and NextGen encryption devices
  • Troubleshoot malfunctions of encryption hardware and software to resolve operational issues and restore services
  • Replace faulty encryption hardware components when required

Required Education, Clearance and Experience

  • Must possess the ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Security, or similar field 8 + years related experience or MS + 5 years of related experience
  • Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 (formerly DoDD 8570) IAT Level 2 Certification must be obtained prior to or within 60 days of hire.

ONE of the following certifications fills this requirement:

  • Security+ CE Certification
  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate/Expert (MCSA/MCSE)
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
  • Perform all other duties as required, consistent with the goals, objectives, and responsibilities of the department

Required Skills/Abilities - Competencies

  • High-level knowledge with Satellite encryption technology
  • Excellent oral, written, and graphical communication skills; Strong customer service skills
  • Strong analytical and product management skills required, train junior engineers
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; message distribution/retrieval programs

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Experience working in an Agile DevSecOps environment
  • Experience working with on-prem and cloud-based platforms like VMware, AWS, Azure
  • Previous experience with DoD classified and unclassified networks

Minimum Clearance Required to Start:

None to start, must be abl to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.

The anticipated annualized full time target compensation (median) for this position is: $140,000.00.
