Leach Wallace Associates, Inc./Member of WSP, a consulting engineering firm, was established in 1990 with the purpose of providing comprehensive mechanical, electrical, and energy systems engineering design services for healthcare, institutional, commercial, industrial and governmental clients. This firm has since grown a field services division with the focus on higher education and health care services. These services include but not limited to Testing, Adjusting and Balancing, Critical Space Testing, Retro- Commissioning and Third-Party Commissioning. Leach Wallace’s corporate Headquarters is in Elkridge, Maryland between Baltimore and Washington, DC and currently has a branch offices in York, Pennsylvania.
Testing and Balancing Field Technician
We are seeking motivated entry level and experienced Testing and Balancing Field Technicians. Under the supervision of a team manager, the Testing and Balancing Field Technicians shall assist with:
Testing, Adjusting and Balancing: the three major steps used to achieve proper operation of HVAC systems.
Critical Space Testing: measuring airflows and confirming room pressurization is correct in addition to calculating air change rates.
Pre-commissioning: confirming the installation of the mechanical system is installed per the contract documents and the owner’s specifications.
Functional performance testing: testing that confirms the operation of the individual components of the mechanical system operate per the contract documents.
Retro commissioning: testing that analyzes current deficiencies and provides recommendations for remediation, and opportunities to conserve energy.


Qualified candidates:
  • At least two (2) years of previous experience in the HVAC field or the equivalent trade schooling.
  • Must have reliable transportation to commute within the Baltimore, southern Pennsylvania, Washington DC and Northern Virginia region.
  • Must have flexibility to work minor off hours shifts as needed. All off hours’ work will be scheduled and coordinated in advance.

  • Must submit to a criminal background check and pass drug testing.
  • Must have a valid drivers license
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
  • Possess HS diploma or GED
This role is subject to a client mandated drug/alcohol testing policy. As such, employee may be subject to random drug/alcohol tests. A copy of the client mandated drug/alcohol testing policy will be provided during employee onboarding and is available upon applicant request. " should be included as a basic qualification.
