Ready to take your engineering experience to the next level to work on complex Rail Systems construction projects. We've worked for almost every heavy rail transit authority in North America, and we currently hold contracts with WMATA, NYCT, PANYNJ, CTA, TTC, BART, SFMTA, MARTA, NJT, DART, MDTPW, and LACMTA. We have completed or are currently working on 23 major railroad and transit design-build projects over the last 20 years. We need your skills in San Francisco, CA.

Parsons is seeking to hire Electrical Engineer's with 5+ years of experience in Traction Power and Distribution projects in a variety of projects. The selected candidate will assist in the design or construction of AC/DC traction power systems, including:

  • Interface with designers, construction crews, management and project teams to deliver projects;
  • Ability to travel to supplier, client, or construction site locations, is expected. This is not a remote posting.


  • Perform engineering and constructability reviews;
  • Provide quantity take-offs and prepare bills of materials;
  • Provide proposed and actual construction schedules;
  • Act as a field project manager and coordinate all construction activities between all parties involved;
  • Monitor construction activities with the onsite Foreman and Area Superintendent to ensure project is being built on schedule, per plans and specifications, and within budget.
  • Perform engineering design or construction sketches and details if necessary;
  • Ensures compliance of design with all applicable codes and regulations;
  • Plan and execute project completion and punch list
  • Prepares material/equipment specifications and purchase requisitions; reviews supplier data; witnesses shop tests, assists with assessing supplier manufacturing capabilities;
  • Conduct surveys and site investigations.
  • Review of shop drawings and design submittals
  • Developing and executing test procedures for electrical equipment and cables.
  • Inspections of electrical systems on railway infrastructure, including stations, substations, guideways, tunnels, yards.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
  • Experience in working with contract drawings, subcontracts, specifications, change orders, RFIs, submittals
  • CPM Scheduling experience
  • Experience in, or familiarity with, AC/DC Traction Power design and construction
  • Construction experience in electrical unit substations, medium to high voltage
  • Experience in NEC electrical code
  • CAD training and familiarity. Experience in Bluebeam.
  • Openness and willingness to learn on the job;
  • Strong organizational, record-keeping and follow-up skills
  • Excellent communication skills. Ability to adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Acrobat, Microsoft Project and/or P6
