Traffic Engineer II - Transportation Infrastructure - Atlanta

  • Engineer to join our team - one that is passionate about the details, well versed in traffic modeling tools and loves solving problems through technology!

In this role, you will be expected to work as part of a diverse team to assess the impacts of transportation projects on traffic operations and perform related design and modeling functions related to traffic planning/operations.

Responsibilities include:

Provide design recommendations on traffic improvements by extracting data from Traffic Studies, performing state of the art Traffic modeling and Traffic analysis (Position has a heavy modeling component)

Prepare and issue traffic engineering reports and detailed studies.

Extract engineering information from CAD drawings. Prepares engineering computations, traffic operational and safety analysis.

Completes a variety of assignments such as traffic impact studies, signing and marking plans, signal design, signal timing and other studies required for typical infrastructure projects including Design-Build Projects.

For more Sr. level candidates - provides technical guidance to Engineers, working on the same project, and reviews work performed by others.

May be required to provide the seal and signature of the professional engineer, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances.


Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering. Master's Degree is preferred but not required.

Must have 5 years or more of traffic- related design and modeling experience.

Traffic Modeling experience using VISSIM, SYNCHRO, SimTraffic or related software associated with traffic engineering/modeling is required.

Professional Engineer/PE registration is highly preferred (or the ability to obtain PE license within 6 months).

PTOE/ PTP is preferred.
