WSP is currently initiating a search for Traffic Engineering Interns for our Atlanta, Charlotte, Raleigh,and Tampa offices.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with traffic analysis and recommendations for safety and operational intersection improvements
Designing intersections, bike facilities and traffic signals using CADD software
Perform field visits to assist with data collection and developing inventories
Preparing quantity summaries and cost estimates for transportation projects
Writing technical reports summarizing traffic engineering improvements
Working with signal timing databases to remotely monitor and improve signal operations
Developing graphics, plans, presentations, and other deliverables for demonstration to our clients and the public
Gathering information on external projects for coordination with ongoing internal projects

<div>Minimum Qualifications:</div> <div>•Current standing as a Rising Junior, Senior or Graduate student actively enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering Undergraduate or Graduate program</div> <div>•Prior internship experience, leadership experience, or relevant coursework</div> <div>•Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint</div> <div>•Strong technical writing, analytical and communication skills</div> <div>•Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products</div> <div>•The selected candidate must have the ability to work in the United States immediately.</div> <div> </div> <div>Preferred Qualifications</div> <div>Local candidates preferred.</div> <div>Prior experience or internship in civil, transportation, or traffic engineering</div> <div>Prior experience with NCDOT policies, standards, and practices</div> <div>Microstation proficiency</div> <div>Familiarity with Software: Synchro, SimTraffic, HCS, ArcGIS</div> <div> </div> <div>About WSP USA</div> <div> </div> <div>WSP USA is the U.S. operating company of one of the world's leading engineering and professional services firms.
