WSP is currently initiating a search for a Transit and Rail Intern for our San Francisco office.  This is an opportunity to learn about, and contribute to, proejcts involving electrified rail lines including the overhead catenary system.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Assist with design of OCS wiring layout, foundations, poles, and other catenary equipment
* Prepare calculations to support OCS design and performs various engineering-related calculations and analysis using relevant design criteria, codes and standards
* Prepare drawings, construction cost estimates, specifications, technical reports and other contract documents
* Assist with CAD work in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microstation
* Assist with responding to RFI and construction submittals

Minimum Qualifications:
* Working towards a Bachelor Degree in Civil, Electrical, or Structural Engineering at an accredited College or University. 
* Must have completed a minimum of 60 credit hours
* Proficiency with CADD software, AutoCAD and Microstation preferred
* Prefer an interest in transit & rail related projects, or willingness to learn
* Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
* Engineer-In-Training (EIT) Certification
* Internship experience in the transportion or engineering industries
* Experience with structural steel, concrete, and foundation design
* Basic knowledge with Excel VBA and/or other coding experience is a plus
