WSP is currently initiating a search for an Intern for our Portland, OR office.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Work closely with Safety and Security Specialists on safety/security related projects and assignments, often interacting with other disciplines including transit & rail engineering, construction, and operations
Complete discrete two to three week assignments for a range of transit and rail projects across the United States
Prepare a summary of activities, objectives and accomplishments at the completion of the internship and present to the Portland office.
Access WSP’s Developing Professionals Network (DPN) and its wealth of resources and networking opportunities specifically focused on career professionals
Work on tasks requiring statistical analysis of wide range of safety performance activities applicable to transit agencies and railroads
Contribute to reports preparation pertaining to all the above

<div>Minimum Qualifications:</div> <div>Student in an accredited degree program at a recognized U.S. university leading to a degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation, System Safety or Security, Planning or related field</div> <div>Experience researching, analyzing and summarizing technical information</div> <div>Clear written and verbal communications skills, and understanding of the English language</div> <div>Ability to work in a self-directed environment with guidance and mentoring from the team</div> <div>Proficiency using computer software such as MS Office</div> <div> </div> <div>Preferred Qualifications</div> <div>Any experience working in the Rail or Transit industry and/or government agency</div> <div>Understanding of applicable industry standards and best practices such as CPTED and ML-STD-882</div> <div>Familiarity with applicable industry regulations and guidance such as 49 CFR Parts 673 and 674</div> <div>Experience using AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite</div> <div>Prior internship experience</div> <div> </div> <div>About WSP USA</div> <div> </div> <div>WSP USA is the U.S. operating company of one of the world's leading engineering and professional services firms.
