WSP is currently initiating a search for a Transit Safety & Security Engineer for our Portland office.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist with hazard analyses and threat/vulnerablity assessments of system, sub-system and site specific elements
  • Research rail/transit safety and security topics
  • Prepare reports, presentations or other documents of findings as directed
  • Review projectlans,designs,design variances, design basis reports and/or other data and submittals for compliance with safety  and security design criteria and concepts, as directed
  • Support the Safety and Security Managerment in accordance with FTA, FRA and TSA requirements

Requirements

<div> </div> <div> </div> <div>Minimum Qualifications:</div> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in accredited Civil Engineering Undergraduate or Graduate program</li> <li>1 year or less post graduate work experience</li> <li>Prior internship experience, leadership experience, or relevant coursework</li> <li>Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint</li> <li>Strong technical writing, analytical and communication skills</li> <li>Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products</li> <li>The selected candidate must have the ability to work in the United States immediately.</li> </ul> <div> </div> <div>Preferred Qualifications</div> <ul> <li>Internship in transit safety  and/or security</li> <li>Training in safety and/or security</li> <li>Masters Degree</li> </ul> <div>About WSP USA</div> <div> </div> <div>WSP USA is the U.S. operating company of one of the world's leading engineering and professional services firms.
