WSP is currently initiating a search for a Transportation Engineer based in our Portland, Oregon office. If you are interested in how transportation facilities are planned, designed, and operated you’ll fit right in. Our team excels in traffic analysis and design, multi-resolution modeling, intelligent transportation systems, and multi-modal planning.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop transportation solutions together with our design, roadway, transit, traffic, and planning teams.
  • Use cutting-edge analysis, modeling, and simulation techniques to evaluate alternatives to best improve safety, access, and mobility.
  • Perform basic design tasks and drawings related to the development of conceptual transportation projects.
  • Support preparation of final design plans, cost estimates and special provisions.
  • Prepare documents to summarize impacts for communities, public agencies, and decision-makers.

Requirements

<div>Minimum Qualifications:</div> <ul> <li>Passion for solving transportation issues</li> <li>Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field</li> <li>At least one year of experience in engineering or transportation-related field</li> <li>Good technical writing, analytical and communication skills</li> <li>Ability to work independently and with a team</li> <li>Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint</li> </ul> <div>Preferred Qualifications</div> <ul> <li>Previous experience working on projects in Oregon or Washington</li> <li>Interest in traffic operations, active transportation, and complete street design</li> <li>Experience with Synchro, VISSIM, or similar traffic analysis software</li> <li>Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation</li> <li>Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification, or ability to obtain within 1 year</li> <li>Master of Science in Transportation Engineering or related field</li> </ul> <div><strong>About WSP USA </strong></div> <div><strong> </strong></div> <div>WSP USA is the U.S. operating company of one of the world's leading engineering and professional services firms—WSP. Dedicated to serving local communities, we are engineers, planners, technical experts, strategic advisors and construction management professionals. WSP USA designs lasting solutions in the transportation, buildings, energy, water and environment sectors.
