WSP is currently initiating a search for a UAV Operations Technician for our Worcester, Massachusetts office.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Review previous documentation and plan field operations
  • Perform various drone flights and compile reports
  • Technical compliance and oversight of drone operations in relation to our Bridge Inspection group
  • Understand and be aware of the ever changing drone market and associated regulations

Minimum Qualifications:
  • HS diploma is required; BS degree is a plus
  • At least 3+ years minimum experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of UAV Mapping Sensors, Image Processing software, GPS surveying functions including direct georeferencing
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Computer skills involved in the submittal of daily files including downloading of data, preparation/organization of field sketches & digital photographs, completion of daily checklists & timesheets, and vehicle navigation are required.
  • Successful candidate must be willing to travel from time to time
  • Physically capable of performing field work including working at heights and in close quarters, etc.
  • Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to pass random drug testing
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Preferred Qualifications:
  • FAA Part 107 Certification or ability to acquire within 3 months
  • OSHA 10 or 30 Construction Certified
  • Current FHWA/NHI Bridge Inspection Training (2-week Bridge Safety Training and/or Refresher courses)
  • Pix4D/Bentley ContextCapture Capabilities
  • AutoCADD/Microstation Capabilities
