Water & Environment Area Manager

WSP USA is seeking an Area Manager to drive organic growth and operational performance in the Washington region of our Water & Environment business. Responsibilities of the position include oversight of operations, project delivery and business development activities in our Seattle, Washington office. The Area Manager will work collaboratively with the firm’s marketing team and leads from other market sectors throughout the Washington region.
 
Responsibilities will also include leading the firm’s marketing, delivery and management performance throughout the Washington region. Specific responsibilities for this position include:
 
Operations:
  • Manage the annual operating plan for Washington with coordination with Regional Business Manager, Director of Operations, and Service Line leads.
  • Key performance targets in the operating plan will include funded contracts, net revenue, operating margin, utilization of Washington Water and Environment staff
  • Manage performance to achieve the targets in the operating plan
  • Effectively and strategically manage the employees in the business unit
  • Create a culture of collaboration to maximize the performance of firm across all business units
  • Business Development:
  • Leading and expanding WSP’s water and environment business in Washington region.  
  • Utilizing existing client relationships in Washington, develop winning and sustaining strategies for water and environment opportunities with key Washington region clients
  • Establishing long-range growth plans and objectives in concert with leads from other WSP market sectors
  • Monitor progress towards achievement of business goals
  • Develop new business leads
  • Participate in negotiations to secure contract awards

Requirements

<ul> <li>Bachelor in civil/environmental engineering, or related business field. </li> <li>Minimum 15 years of water and environment consulting/engineering experience, including at least five years of successful experience in client relations and business development and management role for Washington region</li> <li>Active professional registration in Washington</li> <li>Demonstrated experience in leading and winning large strategic pursuits.</li> <li>Excellent communication skills (presenting and writing)</li> <li>Organized, self-starter with a strong entrepreneurial spirit</li> </ul> <div> </div> <div>About WSP USA</div> <div> </div> <div>WSP USA is the U.S. operating company of one of the world's leading engineering and professional services firms.
