Join Chatham County as an Appraisal Technician! Assist with property records, data entry, appraisal support, and aerial property reviews while helping maintain accurate assessment information. Performs skilled technical and administrative support updating records, assisting with appraisals and data entry work, performing desktop review of property physical characteristics, sketch comparison in Pictometry, and performing related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Appraisal Supervisor. Since every duty associated with this classification may not be described herein, employees may be required to perform duties not specifically spelled out in this class specification, but which may be reasonably considered to be incidental in the performance of their duties just as though they were written out in this class specification.

Associates/Technical degree with course work in real estate or related field and minimal experience in general clerical work preferably in a real estate environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Requirements This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 25 pounds of force; work regularly requires walking, sitting, speaking, hearing, use of hands and fingers, handling, feeling and repetitive motions, frequently requires pushing, pulling and occasionally requires standing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching with hands and arms and lifting; work has standard vision requirements, requiring close vision, distance vision and depth perception; work requires vocal communication to express or exchange ideas orally; work requires hearing to perceive information at normal spoken levels; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, using measuring devices, operating motor vehicles or equipment and observing general surroundings and activities; work regularly requires exposure to outdoor weather conditions and occasionally requires working near moving mechanical parts and working in high, precarious places; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).
Special Requirements Must possess a valid North Carolina driver's license. Must pass the UNC School of Government Property Tax Listing and Assessing in North Carolina exam within one (1) year of employment.
