Job Description
Responsibilities:

This position drives truck equipped with fuel tank and bulk oils and keeps proper level on all equipment assigned to the driver. Conducts all work in accordance with company policies, procedures, and programs

  • Makes daily pre/post trip inspections on assigned vehicle in order to maintain maximum vehicle safety conditions and to check for any damaged or work parts or for any signs of tampering. Must report all problems found to the shop immediately.
  • Drives fuel truck to predetermined destinations applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and of roads in the area.
  • Maintains a truck log in accordance with state and federal regulations and company policy.
  • Communicates any problems with traffic or with site conditions are reported promptly. Also, gets information on the location of the job site and the locations of any light bridges or roads on the way to the site.
  • Complies with all aspects of truck maintenance, cleanliness and repair in accordance with the guidelines specified in the Truck Driver's Handbook.
  • Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned.


Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED preferred or related work experience
  • Must have Hazmat Endorsement
  • Must have Tanker Endorsement
  • 1 -2 yrs Commercial driving experience
  • In compliance with all DOT physical requirements
  • Valid class B Commercial Drivers License is required
  • Skilled in the operation of loading and unloading of fuel and oil from the fuel truck at terminals
  • Valid Drivers license required

  • Must follow all DOT Regulations
  • Ability to give and receive written or oral instructions
  • Must have ability to work independently
  • Must pass DOT physicals
  • Ability to read maps and follow directions to locations
  • Ability to maintain composure, professionalism in all situations
  • Must be physically able to operate, move about, and maintain the truck
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to change
  • Interact professionally with the public and others in the company while making deliveries
  • Ability to show composure and constraint while driving safely. Poor driving would result in a negative perception by the public towards the company
  • Adaptable and Flexible

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Prolonged sitting followed by hooking up, loading, and unloading equipment. Requires extensive and heavy physical activity and dexterity. Must be able to drive for long periods of time. Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Must be able to work early mornings, evenings and weekends. Work conditions vary from site to site and are affected by the weather. Both physical & mental strain involved in crowded highway and off road driving fuel truck. Rough grading and undeveloped job sites present a threat to safety where carelessness or poor judgment could result in serious of fatal injury to drivers or others.
